About the author

Cliff Schorer experiences a diverse life of adventure, intellectual curiosity, creativity and focused action.  Following a career founding companies and investing in early-stage ventures, 1993 he joined the faculty of Columbia Business School as a Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. In addition to teaching graduate level courses in Entrepreneurial Venturing, he travelled the world as a keynote speaker and delivered programs in business strategy for global corporations including clients such as Glaxo, Pfizer, Telefonica, AT&T and Sony.  His extensive travels included engagements in Europe, South America, Africa, the Far East, and Russia. 

With the collapse of the Berlin Wall in the early 90s, he traveled to Russia on behalf of the United Nations to assist in the transition of the controlled economy to one of private enterprise. During his extensive travels including winter periods in oil fields of Siberia, he came face to face with the corrupt government leadership and brutal Mafia imbedded in their system of government.  His experiences ranged from escaping from a kidnap attempt to negotiating with criminal elements on behalf of American enterprises while securing information for the FBI. 

A Ritual of Innocence provides a fictional background of various personal encounters, but most importantly focuses on the extreme divergence of interpretations by people of different backgrounds and cultures of a crime of global impact.
